Our client based in Longford is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team due to a recent promotion. This Senior Financial Accountant job is commutable from Westmeath, Offaly, Roscommon, Leitrim, Cavan, Sligo and Galway and will see you partner with the Financial Controller across finance projects, budgeting, forecasting and monthly accounts preparation giving you a breadth of exposure. It’s the ideal, long-term Senior Financial Accountant job if you are based in or near Longford or you are looking to move closer to home from Dublin or abroad.

Your new job

This Senior Financial Accountant job has multiple aspects including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and finance projects which will give you excellent exposure. As a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in industry you will partner with the Financial Controller in budgeting and forecasting as the project pipeline continues to grow, continuously revising forecasts and keeping the senior leadership team updated on revenue and costs on a monthly basis. You will also use your financial analysis skills to prepare cost models for new business and report on actuals vs. budget once projects commence. In addition to preparing monthly financial accounts, management accounts, VAT returns and other statutory obligations, you will drive continuous improvements in finance processes. Among imminent projects include introducing a PO approval process which utilises their existing ERP system, maximise returns for the company from the R&D Tax Credit and further develop processes around inventory accounting.
