Partner with the founders and Financial Controller in an international MedTech company.

This Finance Business Partner job based in Galway will see you join one of the most investor friendly MedTech companies in Ireland with over €30m already secured from both public and private investors. Commutable from Mayo, Roscommon and Clare, this job will be the No. 2 in Finance with daily interaction with the CEO.

Experience multiple areas of accounting and finance

This is a broad based Finance Business Partner job with no silos, your primary responsibility will be to provide financial and business insights to the Financial Controller and company founders on a regular basis as the company rapidly expands. You will be a reliable, trustworthy partner to proven entrepreneurs who previously founded, grew and saw their business acquired. Also within the scope of this position includes the consolidation of monthly management accounts for the Irish and US entities, month-end accounts preparation and completion, involvement in creating the annual budget as well as financial scenario planning for the upcoming commercialisation of their FDA approved medical device across European and American markets. Due to their expansion this company is taking previously outsourced responsibilities back in-house including accounts payable journal bookings, VAT, CSO and other regulatory returns along with elements of payroll. As part of their workforce planning, this Finance Business Partner job will manage an A.P. Specialist in 18 months time offering you a people management pathway on top of the technical accounting exposure that you will receive. You will also prepare business information ahead of a new round of funding which gives you exposure to the inner workings of sizable investments in action.

This company was founded by two experts in the medical device field who have gained the trust and investment of the IDA, EU investment vehicles and private sector investors due to the commerciality of the products they are creating. Allied to this they put in place a Financial Controller who has 20 years’ experience in the MedTech industry who can act as a mentor and support you in your role. The leaders within this company have fostered an inclusive environment where their highly-qualified employees bring their talents and ideas to the fore to drive the business forward.

The skills that you can bring

With your ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification completed, you will transfer your years of industry experience to this growing Finance team. A willingness to bring a commercial and “can-do” approach in a scaling-up environment is a key component as this company hires for a pro-active attitude as much as technical skills. If you have the added bonus of having Accounts Payable and MedTech sector experience that’s an advantage, however, these two items are by no means essential and applicants without these elements will certainly be strongly considered.

How will you be rewarded

On offer is an attractive package of between €70,000-€80,000 including base salary, 10% bonus, €1,500-€3,000 well-being allowance and hybrid working. You will be two steps away from the company founders in reporting lines which comes with significant exposure and influence.
