Due to internal promotion, a top employer in Galway is seeking to hire a new Senior Financial Accountant to play a lead role in their collaborative, high performing team of Financial Accountants.

As a Senior Accountant, you will support & mentor the other accountants to ensure operational excellence within the team and that junior accountants grow and develop in line with company values.

Initially a work-from-home job due to Covid, once government guidelines allow it, you will join a large team of Accountants, AR, AP, Payroll, Sales, Order Management, IT, Logistics and other global functions in the company’s new, state-of-the-art International Centre of Excellence facility in Galway.

Your new job:

Right-hand person to the Senior Finance Manager, and with daily interactions with the Director of  SSC Finance, you will be empowered with leading the financial accounting and reporting requirements for numerous entities in the EMEA region or the rest of world (ROW) for this global company.

In a Senior Finance job that offers you excellent autonomy, flexibility and accountability, in a fresh, start-up environment of a highly successful, well-established MnC, you will be empowered to:

  1. Support of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycle, ensuring it is completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner in accordance with IFRS
    o Supervise and review other Financial Accountants’ work
    o Mentor junior accountants to ensure growth and development in line with company values
  2. Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations at month end, and all related variance analysis
  3. Reviewing and approving corporation tax and deferred tax asset/liability, as well as preparing & filing tax and VAT returns.
  4. Assist with or lead other Global Projects as required, including integration of new acquisitions, and pilot global IT Systems testing and implementation
  5. Assist with preparation of Statutory Financial Statements in accordance with local GAAP. Work with tax advisors to complete the annual Corporation Tax returns in line with statutory deadlines and liaise with external auditors to complete the annual Statutory Audit
  6. Supporting the EMEA SSC Director, and the VP of Finance Europe with process improvement projects and ad-hoc finance projects
    o Drive efficiency and continuous improvement throughout the department
    o Work with corporate finance team to assist in the review, design and implementation of financial processes and systems
    o Proactively collaborate across multifunctional teams to create an environment that strives for global consistency of best practices
  7. Driving global process and systems improvement initiatives for financial reporting, with particular emphasis on IT systems investment

Remuneration and rewards:

A highly competitive package of c€65-70K will be offered to you, as well as flexibility in working arrangements, even when the offices re-open.
