Job Overview
No 2 to the CEO, this Financial Controller job in the Westmeath / Longford region offers you commercial and strategic influence in a rapidly developing manufacturing plant. This is an excellent job for an ambitious Finance Manager / Financial Controller (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) in the Meath, Westmeath, Longford, Cavan, West Dublin area, who is looking for an influential position that will utilise their business savvy skills.
As the Plant Financial Controller, you will work closely with the CEO & Board of Directors to build and grow the business in Ireland and the UK, leveraging the connections of a new parent company (a large group of 9+ manufacturing plants, 2000+ employees and sales in Europe & South America) to establish new markets and win new customers for the plant.
Your new job:
Part of the site leadership team, you will manage the financial and commercial direction of the company, driving performance through cost-effective, innovative, customer-focused initiatives that will enhance the brand of the company and ultimately increase sales and gross margin for the plant.
Managing a finance team of 3, your financial activities will include producing management, financial and statutory accounts at month-end and year-end, carrying out profitability analysis, customer sales analysis, operations variance analysis, managing forecasting & budgeting, supporting Sales with pricing commercial deals and ensuring IT Systems are utilized to full potential.
As part of the leadership team, you will lead and drive specific project work to improve processes, increase efficiencies and optimise business performance. You will advise Executive and Management Teams, investors and external stakeholders on key financial performance, providing sound commercial direction and strong decision support.
How you will succeed:
You will utilise your accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), your commercial acumen, your strong leadership expertise (approx 5+ years) and your proven skills in business partnering with a manufacturing and sales operation to succeed as the Financial Controller of this fast moving business.
If you are a self-starter with a track record of delivering results, you will simply lean on your strong persuasive skills to influence stakeholders (financial and non-financial employees, new and existing customers, Board of Directors, banks & financial investors, sister companies, etc.) to secure their buy-in on decisions to achieve the company’s ambitious growth plans.

This manufacturing plant of approx 250 employees is a joint venture between two sector-leading manufacturing & distribution companies, one an indigenous company with over 60 years’ experience in the Irish market and the other, a large international group with €750m turnover globally. Both companies place product quality, innovation and customer satisfaction at the forefront of their business ethos.
