Job Details

Develop your career at this large-scale multinational company

This esteemed €7 billion turnover company based in Galway is seeking a Financial Analyst due to winning multi-million, multi-annual contracts with both private and public bodies internationally. Commutable from Mayo, Roscommon and Clare, this company promotes from within as they have a 40 person Finance team and combined with exposure to financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting and collaboration with leaders across the business, it is the ideal first job post-qualification to set you up to become a Senior Finance leader in a few short years.

Commercial and operational exposure

On an everyday basis you will be a trusted financial advisor for your manufacturing site where you will support site leaders in maintaining profit margins through your application of standard costing and analysis of costs throughout the financial year. Where variances in actual costs versus forecasts arise you will advise non-financial leaders on where they can decrease costs and maintain their margin. You will also provide forecasts on upcoming capital expenditure such as the purchase of production equipment or manufacturing site expansion.

As the Financial Analyst you will prepare detailed cost models for tender proposals to win long-term contracts and upon commencement of new projects you will monitor, advise and report monthly on expenditure versus the cost model for each project. Your responsibility will be to forecast the cost of manufacturing and installation of the hardware and the accompanying software to support it and ongoing maintenance costs along with recognising revenue generated from the contract in the years ahead.

Gain budgeting and forecasting experience – crucial for career progression

You will be heavily involved in the forecasting cycle which takes place 3 times a year where you will compare how your manufacturing site and projects’ costs have tracked against the annual budget set out at the beginning of the financial year, advising on adjustments as you go into the next 4 months. In Q4 of each year you will provide detailed analysis to help senior leaders create the annual budget for the next financial year which involves preparing and presenting analysis to high-level stakeholders to inform their decision making. This is an invaluable skill to develop if you want to progress to Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Controller jobs in the years to come.

How you will be rewarded

You will receive an excellent package of between €65,000-€70,000 including base salary, 2 days hybrid working per week, annual bonus, company pension contributions, health insurance cover and annual pay reviews. This company prides itself on career progression with much of their finance leadership team having started as Financial Analysts or Financial Accountants and with a 40 plus Finance team you will have the skills and the room to progress your career here. It’s a vibrant, fun place to work with a strong social atmosphere within the team and between offices.

What you will need to succeed

You will be a Qualified Accountant with a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Excellent collaboration and communication skills are important as you liaise with financial and non-financial leaders across the business.
