Progressive Financial Accountant Job in Mayo (work 2 days/week from home) – Unlimited career advancement opportunities

In this highly varied and complex Financial Accountant job, you will work on the financial and statutory accounting requirements for your entities, as well as gaining strong commercial finance experience by supporting Commercial Directors and Finance Directors in the UK & Ireland on a day-to-day basis. – All while working for one of Mayo’s top employers.

An exciting & varied job for you:

Working with the UK & Ireland Team Leader, you will assist with the financial & statutory reporting requirements for Ireland (its principal entity – & its largest, busiest and most complex entity). However, your main focus for the Ireland entity is around its legal agreements with 3rd parties and deal advisory. You will ensure financial compliance of all commercial & legal agreements in place with third party providers of sales & distribution, working with business directors in Ireland & the APAC region to understand the details of the agreements and the business activities, in order to provide accurate application of the financial regulations in deal advisory.

For the UK entity, you will have full oversight of both financial accounting and deal advisory.  You will prepare statutory accounts in compliance with SOX controls and US GAAP & IFRS requirements, as well as preparing financial accounts, financial analysis, tax and VAT requirements at month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting. You will also manage the compliance of the legal agreements for the UK (a relatively small entity), working with UK commercial and finance directors to complete this task.

You will also be heavily involved in, and at times leading, projects in continuous improvement, mergers and acquisitions and company integrations, as the finance representative in cross-functional project teams.

What do you need to bring to the job:

To be successful in this job, you will utilise your positive attitude, track record as a high achiever, your accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and your previous exposure to international accounting standards US GAAP & IFRS.  A strong background in audit from Big 4 or Top 10 practice would be highly beneficial.
