Our client, a leading cloud and web based services multinational based in Galway, are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their growing global Centre of Excellence. Within easy reach of Mayo, Roscommon and Clare, this Financial Accountant job is suitable if you have recently qualified within practice or industry and are looking to build a successful career within a thriving multinational company.

What will your job look like?

An innovator within the enterprise cloud solutions space, your new company has multi-million dollar partnerships with customers annually and as the Financial Accountant you will bring your expertise to ensure this revenue is correctly accounted for. With the focal point being quarter end, you will have responsibility for revenue entries across multiple operational work-streams, ensuring alignment with US GAAP requirements. You will complete management reports on key business KPIs such as flux analysis on indirect reserves and ensure the general ledgers are reconciled. Once quarter end is completed you will engage in balance sheet reviews to ensure the accuracy of its contents and identify significant changes. Liaising with auditors on technical queries and ensuring SOX controls are documented and implemented will feature on an ongoing basis also.

Continuous Improvement

You will gain exposure to best-in-class systems and training. Within the Finance department there is a dedicated sub-team who are responsible for implementing new automated solutions for both accounting and analytics. Each member of the team then receives training on each tool which will empower you to develop skills in Power BI for financial analytics as well as SAP ERP, Alteryx and Blackline giving you the IT skills to thrive within a bustling finance department.

With 300 employees in Galway, this company has a strong emphasis on work life balance where employees work 2-3 days a week in the office and 2-3 days a week from home. You won’t get caught in traffic as you can start and finish at times that enables you to minimise time commuting.

The experience you can bring

To become the Financial Accountant you will have completed your professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) within either practice or industry. It’s advantageous if you have experience of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue accounting standard but these are not essential. Soft skills that are desirable include an eagerness to learn both technical accounting approaches and systems while always being keen to contribute to the team’s overall outcome.

What you can expect

On offer is a generous remuneration package of €60,000-€70,000 including base salary, full health insurance cover for you and any dependents, company pension match up to 5%, life assurance, acquired disability protection and 25 days annual leave. You will have daily flexibility on start and finish times as well as working 2-3 days from home weekly.
