Job Overview

This Cost Accounting Manager job based in Galway is an excellent opportunity for you to provide effective leadership to a cost accounting team of two people. You will report directly to the Plant Financial Controller and manage and provide development, coaching and training guidance to value stream to your team.

Your new job:

Working directly for the Plant Financial Controller you will lead cost target setting and performance measurement where the owner understands the target and the performance variance. Your new job will also initiate and lead regular weekly/monthly cost performance meetings with the relevant cost owners which also promptly addresses recovery of adverse performance for direct product costs, an expense line, a cost centre or some other metric as appropriate.

Your new job will also involve accurate completion and timely submissions of various cost performance reports and scorecards to the ISC EMEA region. You will also support the financial month end close and associated reconciliations with sub ledgers/sub systems.

• Identifying or execution of cost saving projects, including grant claims, outsourcing or/and insourcing opportunities. Supporting EMEIA region with various cost related initiatives including reporting. You will use effective and accurate financial modelling to support timely decision making and manage accurate inventory accounting in accordance with Corporate policy.

Part of your new job responsibilities will be to have the ability to take leadership  and identify opportunities for change. You will have a strong business and customer focus and will provide effective and timely cost tracking versus targets of major new product programs (unit cost, capital spend and overall profit equation).
