This Financial Accountant job with a €7bn turnover multinational company in Galway is suited to you if you want to develop your technical accounting, process improvement, acquisition integration, variance analysis and statutory audit management skills across entities in EMEA, giving you all the skills to be a Senior Financial Accountant or Finance Manager in 1-2 years.

With 4000 employees worldwide, this manufacturing multinational company has a 40 person Finance team in Galway comprising of Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Finance Operations, Tax, Corporate Finance and Payroll with many employees who join as a Financial Accountant going on to work in a specialist area of choice within 1-2 years. Career progression is at the heart of what they offer with the majority of the Finance Managers and Senior Finance Managers having started as Financial Accountants and were then promoted after 1-2 years, with many of the Directors also having started as Managers. For any Big 4/Top 10 practice trained accountant you will develop unrivaled technical accounting skills, exposure to managing statutory audits of EMEA based entities with external auditors, ongoing process improvement initiatives, Oracle ERP exposure and much more.

What your job will look like

You will manage a number of EMEA based entities that have significant outgoing costs under headings such as inventory, labour, raw materials, CAPEX and incoming revenue giving you exposure to the P&L and Balance Sheet. You will complete financial reporting monthly and assist in the preparation of financial statements annually under IFRS that are of medium to high complexity which will further hone your technical accounting skills. At month & quarter end you will prepare and post journals to the general ledger and provide commentary on variances between the balance sheet and balances on other systems and accounts. There is a quarterly process improvement review of procedures and systems where you will work as part of project teams to drive improvements. This manufacturing giant is growing through acquisitions and you will assist in onboarding newly acquired companies into this company’s processes and procedures.

Pay & Benefits

As the Financial Accountant you will receive a well-rounded benefits package to a value of €65,000-€70,000 including base salary, hybrid working, health insurance, company pension contributions and best-in-class training and development. You will progress your career as either a people manager or technical expert with future opportunities to move into Finance Operations, FP&A, Corporate Finance and other specialities that interest you.

What you need

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) from Big 4 with 1-3 years’ PQE in a multinational company.
